Gem is a beautiful girl who loves to be pet and have human contact. She is a real cuddlebug! Her favourite thing is being held in someone’s arms. Gem is 8 months old and will likely be a medium-sized dog as an adult. She is a sweetheart who is good with other dogs as well as cats. Young children make her nervous, so she is looking for a primarily adult family. Gem was abandoned in a rural area with her litter of siblings, and was one of three surviving pups. Her other two siblings were adopted in Chile, but nobody wanted Gem because of the stigma surrounding black dogs. Gem is scared of loud noises and doesn’t like to be alone. A family with a schedule where someone can be with Gem most of the time is perfect for her. Gem is also afraid of harnesses, but she is learning to get used to them and will have soon conquered her fear! Gem also loves to eat, her favourite treat is chicken.
