We would like to introduce Otis — a truly special boy with a gentle heart and so much love to give.
Otis is about 6 years old and weighs 30 kg — a big, handsome dog with an even bigger soul. He was found alone in the countryside after a hit-and-run accident, in very poor condition. He was dehydrated and severely underweight, but thanks to dedicated veterinary care, successful surgery, and rehabilitation, Otis has made an incredible recovery. Today, he is healthy, neutered, and fully up to date on his vaccinations.
Otis is deaf, likely the result of trauma earlier in his life, and because of that he can be fearful of men. However, he absolutely adores women and forms deep, loyal bonds once he feels safe. His foster family describes him as a sweet, mellow, and affectionate companion who thrives in a calm, understanding home.
He has medium energy — happy to run and explore the backyard, play with sticks, and enjoy little bursts of playful zoomies, but just as content to curl up for a long nap on the couch. A secure backyard where he can move freely and relax would be ideal for him.
Otis does well with other dogs, especially females. He can also live with cats, but slow, patient introductions are important. Because he cannot hear danger cues, he is currently in foster care where his environment can be kept safe and predictable.
This beautiful boy has overcome so much and still greets the world with quiet trust and love. He is simply waiting for the right person to see what an incredible companion he will be.
